A Non Traditional Wedding Reception Venue that Will Bowl Your Guests Over

If you are planning your wedding reception during peak wedding months (April through October), or there is a big convention in town, or the hotel doesn't want to rent the banquet space without a minimum of overnight room rentals, consider unique venues. A unique venue
is a place whose main business doesn't come from renting space for meetings and parties.
When they open their facilities after normal working hours for special events, it becomes
a win-win situation for all involved. The venue gets an additional stream  income and
the host gets to hold their event in a fun and interesting place.

Using a unique venue helps you give the one-and-only, I-did-it-my-way event. They
may be available when traditional venues are booked and the venue itself may help build
the theme, which will help you save on the decorating budget. The cost for a unique
location, however, is usually the same as or higher than using a space dedicated to events,
because you'll need to rent most of the items you'll use. Also, it can be a lot of work,
because you have to consider every detail.

There are unique venues that aren't a lot of work and are over the top, out of the box, different.  For example  a non traditional venue to consider is a bowling alley.  Rent the full center, have them cater the food with "traditional bowling alley food" such as Hot dogs, pizza and hamburgers.  There is usually a bar available and you can serve special drinks out of bowling pin sipper bottles.  The wedding decorations can be tongue-in-cheek fun.  Consider balloon bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids to carry and balloon boutonnière for the groom and goomsmen.  The wedding cake can have a bowler bride and groom as the topper.  Use the house D.J. to lead the reception.

You'll have a wedding reception that has fun food, unique setting and a relaxed atmosphere where everyone will have a great time – your wedding reception will be the talk of the town for years to come!
