What happens if a player catches a soccer ball with his or her shirt?

This hasn't happened but I was just wondering. I am a soccer(football) play as well as a referee...but I don't want to be caught up as a referee not knowing what to do in the game if this situation shall occur. If a player catches like a somewhat popped up ball in his shirt and runs with it, is this allowed? My judgement tells me it should not but I am not quite sure. Thanks in advanced!

I'm not sure - if the ball makes contact with the players hands or arms whilst under the shirt though then obviously this is not legitimate.

I would imagine this is some form of obstrution though as oppossing players have no way of obtaining the ball.
